With second hand DB9 Volantes starting at £35,000 the £22,000 replica might seem like a bit of a bargain, especially with the low servicing costs of the Toyota platform, but it’s not so much the eBay listing itself that fascinated us, but some of the phrases used by the seller:

“Fantastic Aston Martin DB9 looks and extremely low running cost and insurance of a Toyota in comparison, not only does this make a huge benefit over and about your usual Ferrari replica, but how often do you see an Aston Martin replica?? Well one that actually looks like an Aston??”

“And even when you are in a real Ferrari, you get asked if it is real or a replica which is so annoying as they (Ferraris, we assume) are so common but in this you never get asked as it looks so damn good and very very rare.”

“Remember this is an Aston Martin DB9 Replica and based on a Toyota Celica so drives like a Celica which is not a bad thing please no time wasters poking and prodding pointing out differences as there obviously will be differences”

So, what we have here is a genius wordsmith with a bee in his bonnet about Ferraris (real and fake) and a real talent for taking sheep and firmly attaching wolfs clothing. But we’ll let you decide for yourself…
